KnitWarm @ Central Market Exhibition
KnitWarm, a local creative design X technology brand, which invented, designed, and manufactures its creations in Hong Kong, has recently joined the Spectrum, inside the Central Market. They have brought a series of patented and award-winning lifestyle designs to the most convenient location in town, allowing everyone to experience their unique creativity anytime and anywhere.
KnitWarm is an intelligent patented textile technology that only needs to be connected to a power source to warm up within 30 seconds, allowing users to feel a soft warmth like the touch of sunlight anytime and anywhere. The breathable materials of this patented invention make it distinctive from conventional heat-generating appliances by successfully addressing technological challenges to remove the bulkiness, discomfort, and unaesthetic appearance of the latter, unlocking the possibility of new applications to satisfy customers’ unmet needs. With this technology, smart textiles can do more with less, allowing the wearer to look and feel smart.
KnitWarm "Share the Warmth and Spread the Love" exhibition will be held from 12-14th May at Spectrum Central Market to explore the subtle connection and impact between temperature and both physical and emotional health.
KnitWarm demonstrates how to comfortably meet the needs of daily life while focusing on health and sustainable product design by applying the intelligent KnitWarm patented textile technology. The thin, simplified wearable healthcare solutions allow users to wear them with confidence and can enhance the immune system, reduce the risk of illness, and relieve pain through thermotherapy.
The exhibition also showcased KnitWarm's latest product, the "WarmerShoulder" designed in response to the demands of physiotherapists who pointed out that the shoulder is the most difficult part to apply heat therapy. The ultra-slimmed WarmerShoulder is produced with a seamless, three-dimensional knitting technique with intelligent heat-conductive patents to cover the shoulders comprehensively, providing a soft and cozy feeling by improving blood circulation and reducing discomfort due to fatigue and muscle tension. The entire product weighs only 88 grams, making it easy to wear and not hindering daily activities.
In addition, this exhibition has a special theme of “Revolutionizing Tradition" using textile technology to transform nostalgic images into innovative gadgets for daily life, creating a series of concept products that are both retro and fashionable. This is aim to match with the evolution of the venue partner - Central Market, which aims to let their audiences to have a better understanding of the diversity and possibilities of intelligent smart textile. Among them are the "KnitWarm Eye Mask 2.0," which uses collage art to interpret the classic safety match pattern and is an advanced version of the double-layer blackout eye mask. The "KnitWarm Warp 2.0" is also a favorite of professionals and comes with a collection card for the entire body, created by Kara LIU, a student studying at the Rhode Island School of Design, to replicate the classic with a new generation of artistic vision. There are also totes inspired by "shopping baskets" and "aprons," with the apron able to transform into a handbag. The bamboo-knitting craft of the shopping basket has been transformed into hand-warming handles.
At the same time, KnitWarm will introduce its research and development achievements at the exhibition, from R&D to product launch in just a few years, and it has won numerous world-renowned innovations and design awards and represented Hong Kong at foreign exhibitions, achieving remarkable results. The creative team hopes to use this opportunity to share their many "first-time" experiences with the public, including the first successful research of intelligent fabrics after countless tests, the first public release of "Warmerchief," the "Wrap" at the 2018 Red Dot Award Ceremony, the first photo of sponsoring Hong Kong veteran fencers team for the competition in Japan, and the first non-sale item launched for Chet Lam's "Escape Live in Concert."
The exhibition will also showcase more than 50 awards KnitWarm has received in the past few years, and the brand has recently been notified that it has won the "Red Dot Product Design Award 2023" in the innovative product category in Germany. They will attend the award ceremony in June. Products that win an award in this category set new standards and lay the foundations for fundamental industry change. The definition of Innovative Product means from technical optimisations and the rethinking of form to the use of innovative materials and products with a revolutionary approach to use.
KnitWarm revealed that it will hold a creative craft workshop with its partner "Keiko" in the near future to let the public to experience the warmth of handmade crafts and intelligent textiles, creating their unique warm, and fashionable small gadgets.
